I guess it's a HUMAN thing, that we don't tend to like changes. Well, changes that we're powerless over, anyway.
Today was probably the most important change in years, for America. From the sounds of it, there will be a noticeable turning away from the direction our country had been moving.
Some people weren't at all happy about the former President, and of course there are plenty of unhappy American citizens today.
I'm grateful for many of the things President Trump has indicated that he is going to do to strengthen the U. S., and more than that, I'm grateful that I know the One Who's ultimately in control.
I have been around long enough to know that people will lie to your face (heck, I used to lie just to see if I could get away with it- about things that JUST. DIDN'T. MATTER.), and also people will say things with the best of intentions, only to find later that they're unable to follow through.
I reckon that's why I just don't get too excited about politics: I wait to see what the actions say, regardless of the words.
One last thing. As a person in long-term recovery, I shudder to think of my past shenanigans, or things I've said off-handedly, becoming front-page news. I try to give folks the benefit of the doubt. The President got caught with his foot in his mouth YEARS AGO. The First Lady did what she had to, to pay her bills YEARS AGO.
Am I the only one who knows for a fact that people can change??
And all of the showing & telling of Melania's film/photo days. Really?? The morals of this country being what they are, and some folks have the audacity to act offended? I'd bet anything that the majority of men who are acting all indignant about it are same men who have a stack of magazines hidden somewhere.
Anyway, I hadn't meant to go all political on ya!
I feel that I may just be on the brink of a wonderful change, in my own life, in the next 2 weeks or so. The weather here has been much more moderate than it was this time last year, and that's just fine with me.
I hope you're finding some acceptance about changes in your life, today. It's easier to do when you choose to place your trust in God.
Have a groovy and sober weekend, friends!
