Trust and faith

By: WC

Martin Luther King once said "Faith is permitting ourselves to be seized by the things we do not see."

I can't see the wind, but that doesn't mean it's not there. Love is not visible to the naked eye, but there's evidence of it everywhere. The same could be said for God. In the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous there's a chapter called "We Agnostics" Such a beautiful written chapter. It gives a brief description of what the book is all about with this next statement  "Lack of power, that was our dilemma. We had to find a power by which we can live, and it to be a Power greater than ourselves."

Today I have a power greater than myself & my relationship with that power is the most important relationship in my life!  No matter what i tried, I couldn't stop using and drinking before coming to AA. Through trusting in the process and having faith, I dont even think about drugs and alcohol anymore. Today I struggle more with surrendering my will  and my life over to the care of God, as I understand him.  Every time I do surrender and trust, my faith grows!!! It doesn't happen overnight. But it does happen!!!

"The journey of a thousand miles, begins with the first step"
