Blog: No Bet
IT HIT HOME.
On so many levels, it was uncanny how alike his story was to ours.
I was immediately intrigued by this guy, so I pressed forward with asking him if he was interested in filling up a spot I'd been looking for -- gambling addiction.
Steve is anonymous (in case you can't tell by his name), but his message is HUGE. We're so proud to host someone that is passionate about spreading the word of HOPE, letting those suffers know that it is possible to live life in peace and serenity, and sharing how he did it.
"My name is Steve and I'm a recovering compulsive gambler from the U.K. I have been in recovery since 2003 when I first admitted I had a problem with gambling. With the help of Gamblers Anonymous I have turned my life around now got married, started a family and paid my debts off. Life was going great but unfortunately I stopped working on my recovery and this powerful addiction sucked me back in around 2014 where I went on a secretive 6 month gambling binge but lucky for me my wife caught me out and I knew I needed to head back to G.A Second time around I am not taking any chances and putting 110% into my recovery as well as trying to help others with this blog. 1 day at a time I am winning the battles but I accept I will never be cured. Hope people can find the courage to admit they have a problem and seek help. Recovery has given me hope, serenity and peace of mind and I want others to have the same."
Steve, I'm so glad our paths have crossed.
