Drunkless

Letting others see in, so we can see out.

We are Recovering alcoholics and addicts, and these are mini-chapters of our lives. Here, we are learning to live a life of choice; we're learning to live Drunkless.

We'll share in our writings, in our podcasts, in our photos, art, and music -- our creativity will show who we are, what we're going through, and how we make it -- 24 hours at a time.

Podcast: Drunkless LIFE: Recovery Podcast

I met Lea for the first time on the day that I officially announced our newly-created and on-going 365 Days and a Tree campaign, back in June of 2015.  We lost touch with each other until a return trip from Sacramento, CA after bringing in the 2017 New Year.

But I won't get into that story, you can catch that on two of our podcasts, Drunkless LIFE: Recovery Podcast, and Drunkless LIFE:Wandering Podcast.

During our return trip, we talked a lot about various things in recovery and I was privileged to hear a large part of her story.  She also expressed enthusiasm for maintaining her recovery, working through steps, and working towards her goals.  She said that she was wanting to find more ways to connect with others who may be in a similar position she was, and suddenly, it just seemed like the right thing to do... so I began discussing Drunkless and how we're about personal growth, expressing, sharing, connecting, and providing hope to those still suffering.

When Matt decided to step down from podcasting to work on himself and his other goals, I needed a new podcast host, and Lea just seemed to be the right fit.

She graciously agreed.

"I decided to be a part of Drunkless because I hope to be able to connect with someone like me. My clean date is September 25th of 2014. I decided to try this thing called recovery. I grew up surrounded by addictions and alcoholism. I normalized it my whole life and told my self I would never be like that. After my Mom died I lost a lot of myself. I was in a very dark place. I was introduced to a lot of different drugs. I had to fall to my complete bottom to be able to have this ahh ha moment. I got pregnant and was desperate for a change. I've been sober since. For the first time in my life I love myself for who I am and I am excited for this opportunity.I have a daughter and she is my little angel. I've lived in a lot of places and moved around a lot. But I've been in Boise since 2008 and I absolutely love it here. I am excited for this experience."

Welcome aboard, Lea! We're super glad to have you coming along!

Be Positive. Be Compassionate. Be Love. Be Spiritual. Be Life. Just BE.

Drunkless does not intended to diagnose, treat, or resolve any alcoholic or addiction condition in any way, shape or form.  Drunkless deals primarily with chemical addictions and aims to share the experience, strength, and hope of our bloggers, podcasters, and associated guests and visitors.  Though we recognize and realize that there are many forms of addiction and mental disorders, we are not experienced nor educated in ways where we can advise or give feedback on many of them.  As such, it is up to our visitors to discern the differences and to take appropriate action to seek help for themselves or loved ones.  However, we do hope to provide a glimpse into the correlation between some of them and hopefully allow someone a "one-up" on getting help before it becomes life threatening -- after all, that is our goal -- to provide hope where we can, and possibly save a life.

The authors, podcasters, artists, creativists, and other "hosts" on this site do it therapeutically, educationally, inspirationally, and to share their experience, strength and hope, as well as for entertainment... After all, we are not a glum lot.

Drunkess™ does not endorse nor support any one kind of recovery path, it supports all forms of recovery if the path is healthy, positive, and leads to the light.
